External VendingMisers, like the one illustrated above, use a controller and a machine or wall-mounted sensor to monitor room occupancy and temperature. If 15 minutes pass without any pedestrian traffic within 20 feet, the VendingMiser® will power down the machine. The machine is powered back up when people return and at regular intervals to keep the product cold using an ambient temperature controller.
External controllers are best suited for low traffic areas such as public schools. See picture below of the VM170 EZ Install version that is mounted on the machine.
The internal VM2iQ VendingMiser® uses sales-based intelligence to power down the cooling system while leaving lighting and controller electronics on. The VM2iQ monitor room’s temperature and automatically repower the cooling system at regular intervals to keep the product cold. The VM2iQ is best suited for machines with card readers and high traffic areas. See illustration below of installation of the VM2iQ.
